Recycling Services makes gains on the high street

Cory Environmental Recycling Services (CERS) has won two new major contracts consolidating its position as one of the UK’s leading providers of recycling services.

Since May 2008, Recycling Services has been providing waste solutions for Scrivens Limited, the UK’s leading high street optical and hearing care retailer, and Jones Bootmaker. CERS recycling-focused waste solutions have led to a marked increase in the companies recycling performance and have helped them comply with recent waste pre-treatment regulations.

Over the coming months Recycling Services will work with Scrivens' 125 stores and 50 Jones stores across the country to implement a mixed recycling scheme for paper, plastic and drinks cans further boosting the companies  recycling rates.

Ian Best from Scrivens said: "We are delighted to have Recycling Services on board. We have been looking at recycling for some time and this will now be implemented throughout all our stores nationwide with Recycling Services now managing our waste completely. With focus on environmental issues growing and the cost of sending waste to landfill rising sharply, these changes will be beneficial for us in terms of having a responsible attitude towards the environment, and will help us to control our costs".

Julian Harrison, CERS Director added:” The team at Recycling Services has worked extremely hard to develop an award-winning service and it is a great pleasure to see those efforts bear fruit with the award of these new contracts”.
