Plant
hire company L Lynch Ltd. has done its bit for the environment
following the donation of a JCB Telehandler to the Charities
Advisory Trust’s recycling scheme after the Chelsea Flower Show
finished in late May. The recycling project, which is run in
collaboration with charities such as the London Wildlife Trust,
Beatrix Potter Primary School and Vauxhall City Farm, aims to
re-use or recycle many types of materials from the show.
Materials included trees, soil and paving slabs but all of these
had to be moved to a single collection point, and this is where
Lynch’s JCB 520/50 Loadall came into its own. Operating the
loadall was one of Lynch’s fully trained experienced operators,
who was well at ease working in confined areas with a high
person concentration. Lynch selected this particular machine for
its low noise and emissions to reduce the impact of its use to
as little as possible.
Commenting on the donation, Lynch’s marketing director Rob Lynch
said: “we are proud to be part of this exciting ‘green’ project
at the Chelsea Flower Show, and it demonstrates what can be
achieved through co-operation between private, public and social
groups.” The Charities Advisory Trust’s Hilary Blume commented
in saying “we reckon to have salvaged about £200,000 worth of
materials. We couldn’t have done it without Lynch’s help, and
their driver was outstandingly helpful.” |
